「WALL SELECTION vol.3」では、視覚では捉えることができない「みえないもの」の存在を問いかけることをテーマに、多様なモチーフを用い主に絵画表現を中心とした作品制作を行う鮫島ゆいと、自身のSNS投稿画像を素材に、PhotoshopやIllustrator、Blenderなどのソフトを用いて作成した下図をキャンバスに描き起こすユニークな手法で作品制作を行う山崎愛彦、京都を拠点に活動をする2名のグループ展を開催します。

I will be exhibiting at the group exhibition "WALL SELECTION vol.3," held from April 24th, 2024 (Saturday) at WALL_alternative, a nighttime art and culture hub in Nishi-Azabu, Tokyo.
I will be exhibiting previously unreleased new works, and I would be grateful if you could come and see them.

"WALL SELECTION" In "vol.3," we will hold a group exhibition featuring two artists based in Kyoto: Yui Samejima, who creates works primarily in the form of paintings using a variety of motifs, and Yoshihiko Yamazaki, who creates works using a unique method of drawing preliminary sketches on canvas using software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and Blender, based on images he has posted on social media.

haku kyoto では鮫島 ゆい、福濱 美志保、山西 杏奈の 3 名による展覧会「Visualize」を開催いたします。
本展では異なる表現の中で、それぞれが作品と鑑賞者との関係性について考察し、絵画や木彫として立ち現れる表層のさらに奥にある潜在的な本質に向き合い、可視と不可視の表現に触れる様々な要因を探求し制作を行っています。
本展で鮫島、福濱、山西が見せてくれるものは、見た目そのままではなく、人の視覚能力の不思議や個々が持つ固 有性によって、形、色彩、質感、時間に変化をもたらし、作者と鑑賞者の間で Visualize されていく作品群と言えるでしょう。
それぞれの作品と向き合った時、これまで見たことのなかった情景や、切り離すことのできない潜在的な意識の存在に気づき、内省を促しながら、それらは観るものの心的感覚を揺さぶる力を携えています。

haku kyoto will be hosting the exhibition "Visualize" by three artists: Yui Samejima, Mishiho Fukuhama, and Anna Yamanishi.
In this exhibition, each artist explores the relationship between their work and the viewer through diverse forms of expression, confronting the latent essence that lies beyond the surface that emerges as paintings and wood carvings, and exploring various factors that touch upon the visible and invisible aspects of expression.
What Samejima, Fukuhama, and Yamanishi present in this exhibition is not merely what it looks like, but rather a collection of works that, through the mysteries of human visual ability and the unique characteristics of each individual, bring about changes in form, color, texture, and time, becoming visualized between the artist and the viewer.
When confronting each work, one becomes aware of scenes never seen before and the existence of an inseparable latent consciousness, prompting introspection, and these works possess the power to stir the viewer's mental sensations.

WHAT CAFEでは、東京・大阪・京都の3都市を拠点に活動しているギャラリーやディレクター、アーティストを紹介するアートプロジェクト「DELTA（デルタ）」とのコラボレーション展「WHAT CAFE EXHIBITION vol.34　WHAT CAFE × DELTA ” TOPOLOGY”」を開催いたします。
本展は、関東、関西を拠点に活動する若手から中堅のディレクター計10名が参加し、関東と関西のディレクターが2名1組のペアを組み共同ディレクションのもと、5つのプレゼンテーションによって展示が構成されます。 展示会のタイトルである「TOPOLOGY（トポロジー）」とは、繰り返し変化しても保たれる隠れた性質に焦点を当てることを目的とした思考体系とされ、多彩な特性や背景を持ったディレクターとアーティストによるコラボレーションが連続的に展開される本展の構成そのものを説明すると同時に、プロジェクトの中枢にある考えも包括的に表しています。
多角的な視点から現在進行形のARTを紹介するとともに、様々な価値観や思考が結集した表現に触れることで、横断的なコミュニケーションが生まれる「場」の創造を目指します。

・位置や場所を表す言葉「topo」と学問分野を表す言葉「logy」を組み合わせた言葉

WHAT CAFE will be holding a collaborative exhibition with "DELTA," an art project that introduces galleries, directors, and artists based in Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto: "WHAT CAFE EXHIBITION vol.34 WHAT CAFE × DELTA 'TOPOLOGY'."
This exhibition features 10 directors, ranging from young to mid-career, based in the Kanto and Kansai regions. Two directors from each region collaborate under a joint direction, resulting in a series of five presentations. The exhibition title, "TOPOLOGY," refers to a system of thought that focuses on the hidden properties that persist despite repeated changes. This title not only explains the exhibition's structure—a continuous collaboration between directors and artists with diverse characteristics and backgrounds—but also comprehensively represents the core idea behind the project.
By showcasing contemporary art from multiple perspectives and engaging with expressions that converge diverse values ​​and ways of thinking, the exhibition aims to create a space for cross-disciplinary communication.

TOPOLOGY
- A word combining "topo," which means position or location, and "logy," which means field of study.
- Focuses on the hidden properties that are preserved even when some shape or space is continuously deformed.
- A specific phase or position within a cycle of repeating phenomena.
- A structure given to a set in order to define the concepts of convergence and continuity.

【個展のお知らせ】

2023年12⽉2⽇(⼟)より、2kw galleryにて個展を開催いたします。
8月に東京で行った個展で発表した作品を中心に、新たに制作した大作を加え、
規模を拡大させた展覧会構成となります。関西での個展は3年ぶりです。

このたび2kw galleryでは、鮫島ゆいによる個展「afterglow」を開催いたします。
鮫島は、「絵画という視覚芸術を通じて、視覚では捉えられない "見えないもの" の存在を指し示す」ことをテーマに作品制作を行なっています。
鮫島の絵画は断片を組み合わせるようにして構成されており、自ら制作する小さな立体物から得られるイメージを手掛かりに、そこから派生する多様なモチーフを断片的に描き、画面の中でそれらを組み合わせるように絵画で表現しています。不定形なキャンバスは「呼び継ぎ」と呼ばれる、欠けた陶器や漆器を金で繕う手法から着想を得ており、敢えて欠けた部分や不自然に抜き取られたような余白を作ることで想像の余地を残し、その先にある描かれていない存在を手繰り寄せようと試みています。
本展では、形がなくはっきりと認識することのできない幽霊の存在への関心を起点に、モチーフの断片の外側にある見えないものと幽霊の存在とを重ね合わせ、不可視の存在を指し示すことを試みた絵画を発表いたします。

【Solo Exhibition Announcement】

I will be holding a solo exhibition at 2kw gallery starting December 2nd, 2023 (Saturday).
The exhibition will feature works primarily from my solo exhibition in Tokyo in August, along with newly created large-scale pieces, expanding its scope.
This will be my first solo exhibition in the Kansai region in three years.

2kw gallery is pleased to present "afterglow," a solo exhibition by Yui Samejima.
Samejima creates works based on the theme of "pointing to the existence of 'invisible things' that cannot be grasped by sight, through the visual art of painting."

Samejima's paintings are composed by combining fragments, using images obtained from small three-dimensional objects she creates as clues, and then depicting diverse motifs derived from them in fragments, expressing them in paintings by combining them on the canvas. The amorphous canvases are inspired by a technique called "yobitsugi," a method of repairing broken pottery and lacquerware with gold. By deliberately creating missing parts and unnaturally removed blank spaces, the artist leaves room for imagination, attempting to draw out the unseen presences beyond.
In this exhibition, starting from an interest in the existence of ghosts, which are formless and not clearly recognizable, the artist presents paintings that attempt to point to invisible beings by superimposing the unseen elements outside the fragments of the motifs with the presence of ghosts.

MtK Contemporary Artでは、「young okazai vol.3」を開催いたします。第3回目となる本展では、鮫島ゆい、品川亮、油野愛子を紹介いたします。鮫島は、「依り代」と称する立体物を制作。そこから得たイメージをもとに絵画へ展開し、呪術的な“みえざるもの”に形を与えます。品川は、東洋絵画の様式に近代美術の技法や現代性を取り入れることで、「今の日本人が描く日本の絵画」を作り出します。油野は、幼少期に親しんでいた玩具をモチーフに、自身の内的葛藤を絵画や立体などの幅広いメディアで表現しています。草木の緑が一段と色濃くなる季節に、3 人の作家の力強い表現をぜひご覧ください。

MtK Contemporary Art will be hosting "young okazaki vol.3". This third exhibition features the works of Yui Samejima, Ryo Shinagawa, and Aiko Abuno. Samejima creates three-dimensional objects called "Yorishiro," and develops the images derived from them into paintings, giving form to magical, invisible things. Shinagawa incorporates modern art techniques and contemporary sensibilities into the style of Oriental painting to create "Japanese painting as depicted by contemporary Japanese people." Abuno uses toys she was familiar with in her childhood as motifs to express her own inner conflicts in a wide range of media, including paintings and sculptures. 数年前から、描くことで「目にみえないもの」を表現することは可能なのかを考えるようになった。
視覚芸術である絵画においては、描けば描くほど描かれていない部分は失われていく。
物理的に何も描かないことで空白をつくるのではなく、どうにか描くことで描かれていない部分＝目に見えないもの を指し示すことが出来ないか模索している。
「The Beats of Ghosts（幽霊の鼓動）」と称する本展では、祭りや神事で使用される道具などのイメージを中心に、出自の全く異なる題材を断片的に描いており、それらを繋ぎ合わせるようにひとつの画面を構成することで想像の余地を残し、その先にある描かれていない存在を手繰り寄せようと試みている。
繋ぎ合わされた断片と断片の間にある、目に見えない「幽霊の鼓動」を観察してほしい。

For several years now, I have been thinking about whether it is possible to express "invisible things" through painting.
In painting, a visual art, the more you paint, the more the unpainted parts are lost.
Rather than creating blank spaces by physically leaving nothing to depict, I am exploring how to somehow point to the undepicted parts—the invisible—through depiction.
In this exhibition, titled "The Beats of Ghosts," I have depicted fragments of subjects with completely different origins, primarily focusing on images of tools used in festivals and religious ceremonies. By connecting these fragments to form a single image, I am leaving room for imagination and attempting to draw closer to the undepicted presence that lies beyond.
I invite you to observe the invisible "beats of ghosts" that lie between these connected fragments.

このたび、公益財団法人平和堂財団 2022年度芸術奨励賞を受賞いたしました。
受賞に恥じないよう精進を重ね、引き続き制作活動に邁進してまいりますので、今後ともどうぞ宜しくお願い申し上げます。

平和堂財団は、次世代を担う若い人たちの飛躍を願い、教育、文化、体育、環境、児童福祉にかかる各種助成や事業を実施、地域社会の発展に寄与することを目的に活動を行っている団体であり、1991年度から、滋賀県の文化・芸術の振興を図るため、県内で活躍している新進芸術家に芸術奨励賞（音楽部門・美術部門）を贈り助成しておられます。
2022年度は、美術部門4名、音楽部門3名、合計7名の方が芸術奨励賞を受賞されました。
なお、芸術奨励賞は、今年度を含めこれまでに音楽部門87名、美術部門117名、合計204名の方に4,910万円を助成。この音楽部門のうち、15名の方には、海外留学の奨励金を別途贈呈されており、累計4,885万円となっています。

The Heiwado Foundation is an organization that aims to contribute to the development of the local community by providing various grants and projects related to education, culture, sports, environment, and child welfare, with the hope of fostering the success of young people who will lead the next generation. Since 1991, the foundation has been awarding the Arts Encouragement Award (Music and Fine Arts divisions) to promising artists active in Shiga Prefecture in order to promote culture and arts in the prefecture.
In 2022, a total of 7 people received the Arts Encouragement Award: 4 in the Fine Arts division and 3 in the Music division.
To date, including this year, the Arts Encouragement Award has provided grants totaling 49.1 million yen to 87 people in the Music division and 117 people in the Fine Arts division, for a total of 204 recipients. Of the recipients in this music category, 15 have received separate grants for overseas study, bringing the total amount to 48.85 million yen.

このたび、大阪髙島屋ギャラリーNEXTでは、GURAスタジオ所属のアーティスト7名による展覧会「GURA open storage」を開催いたします。
GURAスタジオは、京都伏見に位置する共同アトリエです。2009年にかつて酒蔵として使用されていた建物をリノベーションしたアトリエスペースとして設立して以来、メンバーチェンジを重ねながら今日まで14年続いています。 
若いアーティストにとって、継続して作品を生み出すための場所をどう確保するかは重要な問題であり、数人のアーティストが共同でスペースを持つことは全国的に珍しくありません。 関西にもこのような共同アトリエが数多く存在しており、学校とも会社とも異なる重要なコミュニティスペースとして機能しています。 
私たち7名は年齢も作風もバラバラで、言ってしまえば制作場所を共有しているだけの間柄です。 
しかし、作品に向き合う時間と空間を共有することは個人スタジオでは得ることのできない経験であり、その積み重ねはお互いを緩やかに刺激し合っています。 
制作場所というのは作品やアーティストに比べると着目されづらい部分ではありますが、例えば映画のメイキング映像を裏側の物語として興味深く見るように、スタジオに焦点を当てることは、アーティストが試行錯誤の末に生み出す作品の裏側を垣間見るようなことです。 
本展が、作品－アーティスト－制作場所という関係性に関心を抱いていただく機会となり、ひいては作品およびアーティストに対して新たな側面を見出すきっかけとなれば幸いです。

Takashimaya Osaka Gallery NEXT will be hosting "GURA open storage," an exhibition featuring seven artists from GURA Studio. GURA Studio is a shared studio located in Fushimi, Kyoto. Established in 2009 as a studio space renovated from a former sake brewery, it has continued for 14 years, albeit with several changes in members.
For young artists, securing a place to continuously create work is a crucial issue, and it's not uncommon nationwide for several artists to share a space. Many such shared studios exist in the Kansai region, functioning as important community spaces distinct from schools or companies.
The seven of us are all different in age and style; in short, we simply share a workspace.
However, sharing time and space to engage with our work is an experience that cannot be gained in a personal studio, and this accumulation of experiences subtly stimulates each other.
While the workspace is often overlooked compared to the artwork or the artist, focusing on the studio, like watching a making-of video for a film to see the story behind it, allows us to glimpse the process behind the artist's trial and error in creating their work.
We hope this exhibition will provide an opportunity for you to become interested in the relationship between artwork, artist, and production space, and ultimately serve as a catalyst for discovering new aspects of the artwork and the artist.

概要
　2016年より、関西と韓国のアーティストたちによって開催されてきた展覧会「日韓藝術通信」。今回は、2021年12月に開催された韓国展を引き継ぎ、「GIFT/贈り物」をテーマとして、誰かへ贈ることを想定して制作された作品たちと、アーティスト間で断続的に続く往復書簡の展示を行います。何かを「与える/贈る」こと。そこには他者への想像力が内包され、返礼を含めた相互的な運動のキッカケがあります。日韓でやり取りされる多様な「GIFT/贈り物」を、フジバカマで賑わう秋の京都、大原野へぜひご覧ください。

Overview
"Japan-Korea Art Communication" is an exhibition series that has been held since 2016 by artists from Kansai and South Korea. This time, following up on the exhibition held in Korea in December 2021, the theme is "GIFT," and we will be exhibiting works created with the intention of giving them to someone, along with a series of correspondence exchanged between artists. The act of "giving/presenting" something inherently involves empathy for others and serves as a catalyst for reciprocal exchanges, including reciprocal gestures. Please come and see the diverse "GIFTs" exchanged between Japan and Korea in Oharano, Kyoto, amidst the vibrant autumn foliage.

ブルーピリオド展製作委員会は、「ブルーピリオド展～アートって、才能か？～」の開催に伴い、新しい才能に光を当て、アート界の未来を応援する『ブルーアートプロジェクト』を始動させます。
現代アーティスト20名に原作で八虎が取り組んだ課題をテーマに、作品を制作していただき、それらを会場で展示、ArtStickerにて販売するプロジェクトです。
多彩な感性から、どんな表現が生み出されるのでしょう？ブルーピリオドから、新しいアートの可能性が広がります。

BLUE ART COLLABORATION Special Page

The Blue Period Exhibition Production Committee is launching the "Blue Art Project" in conjunction with the "Blue Period Exhibition ~Is Art Just Talent?~," aiming to highlight new talent and support the future of the art world.
This project involves 20 contemporary artists creating works based on the challenges faced by Yatora in the original manga. These works will be exhibited at the venue and sold on ArtSticker.
What kind of expressions will emerge from these diverse sensibilities? Blue Period opens up new possibilities for art.
