展覧会に寄せて

"CAPTURE" とは、今起きている物事を捉えること。 私たちは日々数多くの情報に触れています。 最近では新型コロナウイルスワクチンにまつわる誤った情報が拡散され、それを鵜呑みにした社会が、二転三転する状況に踊らされる事態が起きています。 今こそ私たちには、自らの目で事実を見抜き、本質を「捉える」力が必要なのではないでしょうか。 そこで"CAPTURE"展では、ユニークな視点から社会を捉え、作品を通して問いかける３名のアーティストにフォーカスします。 Yeji Sei Leeは、アジアを中心に現地に生きる人々と深く交流する中で直面したリアルな生活や価値観を、多文化の中で生きてきた自身の視点を持って読み解き、人間が回帰すべき原点を再考します。 谷川美音は、漆という流動性がありながら永続的な側面も持つ素材と、ドローイングから生まれるフォルムを合わせ、流れ続ける時間の中に存在する「現在」の捉え方を問いかけます。 鮫島ゆいは、小さな立体物を制作する工程で五感を通じて得られる想像を、絵画という１つの場面に混在させる事で、人間が太古から尊重してきた目に見えないものの存在や、信仰の本質を追求します。 本展覧会が、独自の視点を持ち、時代の転機をクリエイティブに生きる為のヒントとなれば幸いです。

"CAPTURE" means to grasp what is happening now. We are exposed to a vast amount of information every day. Recently, misinformation about the COVID-19 vaccine has spread, and society, having blindly accepted it, has been tossed about by the ever-changing situation. Now more than ever, we need the ability to see the facts with our own eyes and "grasp" the essence. Therefore, the "CAPTURE" exhibition focuses on three artists who capture society from a unique perspective and pose questions through their works. Yeji Sei Lee interprets the real lives and values he has encountered while deeply interacting with people living in Asia and other regions, using his own perspective as someone who has lived in a multicultural environment, and reconsiders the origins to which humanity should return. Mion Tanikawa combines lacquer, a material that is both fluid and permanent, with forms born from drawings, to question how we perceive the "present" that exists within the ever-flowing time. Yui Samejima explores the existence of the invisible, which humanity has respected since ancient times, and the essence of faith, by blending the imagination gained through the five senses during the process of creating small three-dimensional objects into a single scene of painting. We hope that this exhibition will provide hints for living creatively in this turning point of the times, while maintaining a unique perspective.
